A cold (or the common cold) is a viral infection of the upper respiratory tract that usually resolves within a week. While a number of different viruses can cause the common cold, the predominant cause of colds are rhinoviruses. Common symptoms of colds include cough, runny nose, stuffy nose, and sore throat.
