Handmade Gift Ideas
Today is Make a Gift Day, a day to celebrate the little handmade moments after a long weekend of shopping. I (Victoria), HealthSnap.ca's Digital Media Coordinator, absolutely love giving handmade gifts for the Holiday season. In fact, one year, I solely gave handmade gifts, and every year, my Grandmother gets a handmade gift of her own.
So today I wanted to share a couple ideas for handmade gifts. Some, that I've made, and other's that I've found on some pretty great blogs. They are all easy enough to make, and require materials that can be found almost anywhere.
So, let's get to it!
Advent Calendars
Ok, so we are a few days late, but that means more candy in your tummy today! Or, maybe it's tea you prefer? I've made it a tradition to create an advent calendar every year. Last year, it was a 24 Days of Tea calendar, this year, it's filled with some of my favourite candies. These are both so easy, you could go to the store now, and have them done by the end of the night!
I filled these little red cups with candy, but you could easily fill them with tea, other snacks, or even small gifts! Beauty advent calendars are super popular, you could even fit a small bottle of nail polish inside!

Homemade Treats
Is it even the holidays if there are not a consistent supply of cookies or treats on hand? I know we get many gifts filled with a variety of homemade treats. This one from Rockford Peachy was a collaboration, a great recipe from my mom's book!

Or, you could try this awesome cookie recipe from A Beautiful Mess. They look amazing! Want to give something low cal? Check out our suggestions on choosing a sugar substitute!
Wrap Gifts in Homemade Wrapping with a cute Homemade Tag!
So maybe you just aren't a great DIYer, or maybe you just don't have the time to make something. I get it, it's ok! But, you can still add a bit of DIY, homemade flair to your gifts - through wrapping!
Print a tag and cut it by hand, or make your own DIY wrapping paper to give that gift a little handmade love.
